Sigma provides qualified NDT/NDE technicians for Ferrite Testing with QA/QC verification.

Ferrite Testing is an NDT/NDE procedure that uses electromagnetic induction to measure the delta ferrite content in austenitic stainless-steel and duplex stainless-steel. The delta ferrite percentage provides a technical assessment of the metal’s mechanical properties, service suitability, reliability, susceptibility to corrosion, susceptibility to solidification cracking, and other types of material failure.

Ferrite testing is performed on austenitic stainless steel and duplex stainless-steel weldments, castings, weld overlays, wrought materials, and forgings. Ferrite content analysis can be obtained on butt/fillet welds, stainless weld overlays on non-ferrous interfaces, cast components, and pre-weld/post-weld heat-treated components.

Certified technicians are available for call-out or long-term assignments. Sigma provides turnkey Ferrite Testing and reporting complete with equipment, consumables, vehicles (mileage), and accommodations required to perform specialized NDT/NDE.
