Sigma technicians are knowledgeable with ASME, AWS, ANSI, NBIC, and EEMUA standards; and are qualified to provide Induction Heating for steel pipe, vessels, tanks, and other metal components.

Induction heating is a heat treatment process that allows very targeted heating of metals by electromagnetic induction. Induction creates a magnetic field that generates eddy currents within the base metal, heating it internally like a microwave. Induction cables or blankets are placed on the part and the magnetic field is generated when electricity runs through the cables or blankets. The process relies on induced electrical currents within the material to produce heat and is the preferred method used to bond, harden, or soften metals or other conductive materials.

Qualified technicians are available for call-out or long-term assignments. Sigma provides turnkey Induction Heating and reporting services complete with equipment, consumables, vehicles (mileage), and accommodations required to perform the Heat Treatment.
