Heat Treatment is a group of industrial, thermal, and metalworking processes used to alter the metallurgical properties of steel by raising and lowering the metal temperature. Stress Relief techniques for hardening or softening metal include annealing, case hardening, precipitation strengthening, tempering, carburizing, normalizing, and quenching.
Sigma provides the following services with both low voltage electrical resistance equipment, and high or low combustion fired internally heated systems:
- Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT)
- Preheating
- Induction Heating
- Furness Heating
- Annealing
- Tempering
- Alignments
- Stabilizations
- Coating Cures
