Sigma provides ASNT/CSWIP/PCN Level I, II, & III technicians for SafeRad Small Controlled Area Radiography (SCAR) using Selenium-75 sources to detect welding defects and assess weld quality.

SCAR controls the radiation utilized for radiographic inspection near other persons, and without impacting near-by sensor systems. SCAR benefits include:

1. Proximity to other individuals – <2 mR/hr exclusion zone at 6 feet
2. Near radiation gauges/sensors and UV detectors – typically <0.5 mR/hr
3. Minimizing/eliminating flash doses
4. Rope access
